At Kent College, we are proud of our ability to provide bespoke timetables at this level. Options are not forced upon the students. A strong element of flexibility allows courses to be tailor made for each individual. For the vast majority of students, the curriculum pattern will be to study English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Religious Studies as compulsory subjects. They will then choose their additional examination subjects from the following options: Art, Biology, Chemistry, Design and Technology Graphic Products, Design and Technology Resistant Materials, Drama, Electronics, English as an Additional Language, French, Media, Food and Nutrition, German, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Science and Spanish.
Music, sport and drama are an integral part of school life, and recent school productions have centred around the skills of students in this age group.
Outside the examination classes there is a programme of PSHE lessons which include careers education, work experience and discussion-based activities relating to a number of moral and ethical issues.
Select from the subjects to learn more about each department or delve a little further into the Curriculum Booklet to find out about various assessment procedures specific to GCSE subjects and the various assessment procedures.
